The sixth season of Game of Thrones received a total of six guild nominations, with the series' producing team honored with the Producers' Guild nomination Norman Felton Award for drama. Miguel Sapochnik earned a Directors' Guild nomination for his work on "Battle of the Bastards" and Michele Clapton and April Ferry shared a nod from the Costume Designers' Guild for Outstanding Fantasy Television Series. The cast, stunt cast, and Peter Dinklage all earned SAG-AFTRA nominations.
Westworld's premiere season earned four guild nominations, including the PGA's Norman Felton Award for drama, a DGA nod to Jonathan Nolan for his direction of the pilot episode, "The Original," and a pair of nominations from the CDG to Trish Summerville for her work on the pilot, and Ane Crabtree for her work on the series overall.
Limited series The Night Of is also a contender with four guild nominations, including SAG-AFTRA nominations for both male leads, John Turturro and Riz Ahmed. The Producers' Guild nominated the show for the David L. Wolper Award for long-form television, and director Steven Zaillian is up for a Directors' Guild award for his work on the pilot episode, "The Beach." In addition to its guild nominations, The Night Of episode "The Call of the Wild" is also a Humanitas finalist in the 60-Minute category.
Silicon Valley and Veep represented HBO comedies, both with three nominations. The two shows were nominated for the PGA's Danny Thomas Award for comedy. Silicon directors Alec Berg (for episode "Daily Active Users") and Mike Judge (for Season 3 premiere "Founder Friendly") received DGA nods, as did Veep directors Becky Martin (for Season 5 finale "Inauguration") and Dale Stern (for "Mother").
HBO Sports series The Fight Game with Jim Lampley: A Tribute to Muhammad Ali, Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Los Angeles Rams, and Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel all grabbed nominations for the Producers' Guild for Outstanding Sports Program.
Season 14 of Real Time with Bill Maher was nominated for a live entertainment and talk television Producer's Guild Award; director Paul G. Casey was tapped with a DGA nod.
Along with Real Time, the producing team for Season 3 of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver also received a PGA nomination in the category of live entertainment and talk television.
Kids' classic Sesame Street received a nomination for Outstanding Children's Program from the Producer's Guild.
For films, All the Way's director Jay Roach earned a DGA nomination in the Television and Mini-Series category. Additionally, Jim: The James Foley Story is a finalist for the documentary Humanitas prize.
